Re: Newsletter contributions

Dear Ewa,

As a new member of the STHC Roundtable--I do have something to
contribute. I was just hired as the full-time Archivist for the
Society of Women Engineers Historical Collection. SWE's records are
on deposit at the Walter P. Reuther Library, Wayne State University,
in Detroit, MI. Currently, our "Women in Engineering Documentation
Project" focuses on processing the organizational records of SWE
(approx. 200 linear feet, 1918-1993), outreach to women engineers,
and the development of a traveling exhibit. The collection has a
substantial biographical-subject series on SWE members, photographs,
a full historical run of SWE's publication (now SWE Magazine) and
over 50 years of organizational records that document SWE's strategy
to promote diversity in the science, engineering, and technological
community. A major gem is the Emma Barth diary collection--she wrote
in shorthand. Plans to translate and edit the diaries are underway.

I am happy to be part of the STHC roundtable, and look forward to
becoming more active in SAA. If anyone has any questions about the
SWE collection, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thanks!
Lauren
