Something to keep in mind if you're planning vacations and/or
budgeting conference travel funds: the Science, Technology, and Health
Care Roundtable will have several sessions on the program at the
upcoming Society of American Archivists meeting in Denver. In fact, of
5 session proposals which STHC submitted or co-sponsored, all 5 were
accepted!
Session proposals submitted by the STHC Roundtable:
1) "Everything But the Technical: Looking at the Organizational Costs
of EAD Consortia" proposed by R. Joseph Anderson <rja@aip.org>. This
session is endorsed by the EAD Roundtable (contact: Beth Bensman,
<beth.bensman@mail.tju.edu>)
2) "When the Written Word is Not Enough: Oral Histories of Science
Professionals" proposed by Suzanna Long <infotek@sunnetworks.net>.
This session is co-sponsored by the Oral History Section (contact:
Pamela Cassidy Whitenack, <pcassidy@hca.microserve.com>)
3) "Archives Oversight Committees" proposed by John Zwicky
<jzwicky@aap.org>.
Session proposals co-sponsored by the STHC Roundtable:
1) "Records of Patients and Human Subjects: Providing Access to
Sensitive Materials" submitted by the Privacy and Confidentiality
Roundtable (contact: Menzi Behrnd-Klodt, <klodt@pleasantco.com>)
2) "Gender and Oral History" (working title) submitted by the Oral
History Section (contact: Diane Rabson, <rabson@ncar.ucar.edu>)
Watch <http://www.archivists.org/conference/index.html> for more
details; this website already has room rates and a link to the Adam's
Mark Hotel.
See you in Denver,
